Overview
The Cognex DataMan 8050 is a rugged industrial handheld barcode reader for harsh manufacturing environments such as automotive body and assembly, electronics manufacturing, shipping and receiving, packaging and aerospace. It reads 1D and 2D label codes and direct part marked (DPM) codes on glass, metal, ceramic and plastic.
Swappable communication modules let users match the connection they need — USB, RS-232 or Ethernet with industrial protocols. Cognex's 1DMax and Hotbars technology handles damaged 1D barcodes, and select models have ESD-protective housings for electronics plants. Note that Cognex now promotes the DataMan 8700 as the upgrade path for this model.
