Overview
The Honeywell 8690i is a compact, hands-free wearable that combines an RFID reader, a barcode scanner and a mini mobile computer in one device. It is designed to boost productivity and cut cost in picking, packing and sorting by bringing several tools into a single wearable.
An EPC Global Class 1 Gen 2 RFID reader reads common supply-chain tags (triggered or continuous), and the optical engine scans 1D and 2D barcodes at arm's length by trigger or proximity. A customisable colour display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and an SDK support standalone workflows. It is rated for 2,000 tumbles at 0.5 m and IP54, has a hot-swappable high-capacity battery with 4- and 12-bay chargers, and a two-year warranty (battery one year).
