Overview

The Honeywell 8680i is a compact, hands-free wearable scanner worn on one hand, designed to speed up high-volume workflows such as picking, sorting, putaway and packing. Honeywell notes that workers can lose around 5 seconds every time they pick up and put down a handheld scanner; wearable scanning removes that step.

The Standard model offers Bluetooth-paired scanning with clear indication of connection, battery and scan result. The Advanced model adds Wi-Fi, a customisable line-of-sight display, a two-button interface and an SDK, so it can run directed workflows as a standalone device instead of a scanner plus mobile computer. It is rated for 2,000 tumbles at 0.5 m, IP54, -20°C to 50°C, with ring or glove accessories, extended or slim batteries and Honeywell Operational Intelligence support.
